Training Course on Potato Seed Marketing Practices at PAU.

Ludhiana: At the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), a two-day training course on “Potato Seed Marketing Practices” began 6th June under the guidance of Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education. The potato seed growers of Punjab are participating in the course.

On the first day of the course, introduction of table potato/seed potato/chipsoma potato, problems and prospects of potato seed marketing in context with transportation and storage, and role of self- help groups/cooperatives and social media in potato seed business, Experts of business management highlighted the current status and future prospects of potato seed production in Punjab.

Also experts would educate the trainees about commodity hedging in potato, commodity trading, qualities of good agri-preneurs for making more profit in seed business, export prospects and procedure for potato seed growers, role of book-keeping in potato business and seed production of potatoes.
